These DLCs can be an engaging diversion for players who believe they've seen everything Minecraft has to offer, and players are already speculating about which Minecraft crossover could be next. However, it didn't provide a major overhaul of Minecraft itself in the way that the multiple crossovers like Sonic the Hedgehog, Minions, and even Ready Player One accomplish. The Wild Update provided a slight revival of Minecraft after hyped died down for a few months, bringing new biomes, mobs, and materials to the already expansive survival game. DLCs like this, however, still manage to entertain quite a few fans.
An update to the DLC was released on April 26, 2023, adding notable features such as the Flying Dutchman's ship and Eugene H. It was first announced during the 2022 'Minecraft Now' live event. Expansions like these are intriguing for a title like Minecraft, since it mainly attract players who are interested customizing their own gameplay. The Minecraft x SpongeBob DLC is a DLC for the Minecraft: Bedrock Edition Marketplace.
The release also comes not long after that of the brand new Lightyear Minecraft DLC, which also features multiple quests and new builds. From defending the Krusty Krab from anchovies, using building skills and Redstone to help Patrick and Sandy, to fighting Plankton, there is more than enough to discover in the new Minecraft DLC.
